Customer Requirements
The operation of the water treatment plant required the installation of a new pressure sand filter designed for the filtration of process water. The equipment was designed as an integral part of the water treatment system, with emphasis on operational reliability, long service life, and ease of maintenance.
The scope of supply also included a complete filter media filling and surface protection suitable for the demanding operating conditions of the metallurgical industry.
Supplied Solution
ENVITES designed, manufactured, and supplied a pressure sand filter intended for the removal of suspended solids from process water.
According to the customer’s requirements, the filter vessel was manufactured from carbon steel grade 11 and protected by a multi-layer epoxy coating system providing long-term corrosion resistance. The supply also included the complete sand filter media.
The filtration process is based on water passing through a filter bed where fine suspended particles are retained. Once the filter bed becomes loaded with solids, the filter is regenerated by backwashing. This filtration method is a proven solution for fine filtration of process water, offering high efficiency and low operating costs.
Technical Parameters
Filter diameter: 3,000 mm
Equipment type: Pressure sand filter
Material: Carbon steel
Surface protection: Epoxy coating system
Filter media: Sand filter media
Project Execution
The equipment was manufactured at ENVITES production facilities, including quality inspections and preparation for shipment. The scope of supply comprised a complete pressure sand filter including the filter media.
The filter design corresponds to the standard ENVITES range of pressure sand filters, which are supplied in diameters of up to 3,000 mm. The vessel is manufactured from carbon steel and protected against corrosion, most commonly by an epoxy coating system.
Summary
The supplied pressure sand filter replaced an existing outdated filtration unit at the water treatment plant serving the steel production facility and ensured reliable filtration of process water prior to its further use within the production process.
The robust steel construction, high-quality corrosion protection, and properly selected filter media provide the basis for long-term operation under the demanding conditions of the metallurgical industry. This project represents another example of ENVITES supplying equipment for industrial applications where high requirements are placed on reliability, service life, and manufacturing quality.
